The Kinfolk Team

PRINT Kinfolk is a slow lifestyle magazine published by Ouur that explores ways for readers to simplify their lives, cultivate community and spend more time with their friends and family.

Founded in 2011, Kinfolk is now the leading independent lifestyle magazine for young creative professionals and also produces international editions in Japan, China, Korea and Russia. Published quarterly, Kinfolk maintains a vibrant contributor base from Copenhagen to Cape Town and hosts hundreds of global events that bring the community together. Subscribe

ONLINE Our website features content that’s available to everyone (new web stories, City Guides, Galleries and films). We also offer access to content from our back-issue archive to full subscribers. Learn more

EVENTS Since early 2012, Kinfolk has curated an international series of events. In 2013, the Kinfolk team hosted between 12–30 dinners and workshops every month with a shared theme across multiple cities around the world (examples include the Flower Potlucks, Campfire Cooking and Butcher Block Parties). In 2014, we limited the frequency of events so that our our entire community can put more energy into depth, not breadth. We hosted a spring/summer celebration and a fall/winter gathering. Keep an eye on the event page for updates on 2015. Attend events

COOKBOOK Our first cookbook, entitled The Kinfolk Table, features 85 delicious recipes from our circle of foodie friends and is available now on Artisan Books. Order here

FILMS Check out our films including the Kinfolk Saturdays series to inspire you on your days off. View films

The Kinfolk team is a small group of writers, artists and business minds working together in Portland, Oregon, along with a couple remote team members. The extended Kinfolk community consists of far-flung, like-minded, food-loving friends, photographers, designers, cooks and other creative types, whose contributions help define the magazine. Kinfolk provides a space where we can come together and share ideas about small gatherings, casual entertaining and great things to cook, make and do.
