Kinfolk Dinner: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Words by Julie Pointer Photographs by Parker Fitzgerald

Our fifth Kinfolk Dinner was held at Terrain at Styers near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

We were privileged to gather at the beautiful Terrain at Styer’s for our Philadelphia dinner. We shared one communal table in the barn, surrounded by summer’s early blooms in the gardens. Guests enjoyed a delicious seasonal meal made with ingredients from a variety of local farms and purveyors, and had the pleasure of sharing the table with some of our evening’s partners—farmers, winemakers, butchers and coffee and tea experts, among others. We found our Pennsylvania hosts and attendees refreshingly down-to-earth, gracious and welcoming and enjoyed our time spent lingering in the gardens with new friends.

A special thanks to our dinner partners Anja Mulder, Apolis: Global, Art in the Age Craft Spirits, Blue Moon Acres, Brown Betty Desserts, Galer Estate Wines, Happy Cat Farm, Jarlsberg, Lilikoi Design & Letterpress, Nest, Parker Fitzgerald, Philadelphia CowShare, Rachel Koppenhaver + Rachel Hosan, Sea Chant, Spodee Wine, Sullivan Owen, Teaspoons and Petals, Terrain at StyersWest Elm, Wild Flour Bakery and Woolwich Dairy.

What a beautiful article. Cheese has always been my favourite food, ever since I was a little girl. Over the past few years, however, I have noticed that I am becoming increasingly intolerant of all dairy products. While it is almost a painful process to eat cheese, I still do so on a once weekly basis. It's just not worth living without being able to eat this delectable food! Emory
