My Winter Garden
Words & Styling by Amy Merrick Photographs by Parker Fitzgerald
Winter is the darkest season. There’s no better way to brighten up your home than to bring the outdoors in, starting with flowers.
Setting a scene and filling it with flowers is a simple way to keep spirits high. In a vase, on the wall, in a pot or tucked in your hair or jacket—surrounding yourself with reminders of life wards off the winter blues. More so than any other season, winter needs flowers. A few poppies from Italy that are worth their weight in gold, or a blooming amaryllis picked up at the hardware store—every little bit lightens the load. Buy bunches, force bulbs and repeat as necessary while looking forward to the months to come.
