A lot has changed in men’s fashion since Véronique Nichanian was appointed to head the menswear division at Hermès in 1988. For one, men were still expected to wear a suit and a tie. “It was all very limiting,” she says in her office at Hermès’ headquarters in the center of Paris. “But I’ve been talking about sensuality since I started, which was not a word people were using in the '80s or '90s!”
