OPENNESS

Change happens so fast that even people of the same generation can feel estranged from those just a few years either side of them. Being open to new ideas is a critical precursor to unified action on global issues. It is also of personal benefit: study upon study shows that being receptive to new ways of thinking is one of the key ways to stave off cognitive decline. For this flag, Pantoja drew on symbols of the open ocean and sky: a reminder of the vast geographical areas we have yet to fully understand.
