On the Sunday following the summer solstice, Kinfolk and CHANDON hosted a dinner paired with sparkling wine at CHANDON Home in Napa. Celebrated talents from cultural and culinary scenes came together beneath a canopy of century-old California oaks to enjoy a slow afternoon sharing in good food and one another’s company.
The poet Eileen Myles wrote of “summer as a time to do nothing and make no money,” evoking the season as a time of ritual and gathering, beauty and vitality, slowness and quietude. With this in mind, refreshed by CHANDON Spritz and following a meal of freshly caught Dungeness crab, we spoke with three likeminded creatives to discuss the rituals that situate them in the summer and how they slow down the season.

PLEASE ENJOY RESPONSIBLY.
