Need Supply Co. was founded in 1996 selling vintage Levis, and was one of only a tiny handful of boutiques in its neighbourhood of Richmond, Virginia. Since then, the store has grown to encompass an impress stall of brands and a reputation for their sleek, minimal aesthetic. Over the last two decades, the store has continued to support its neighbours, supplying wares made by artisans in the Richmond community, while also expanding their international reach. The Tokyo Need Supply Co. store is a testament to this brand’s truly international sense of style. The bustling district of Shibuya is home to Need Supply Co’s second brick and mortar store. A natural continuation of their flagship store in Richmond, Virgina, the Tokyo store offers a moment of respite from the busy Shibuya streets. The shop space was designed by Need Supply Co.’s in-house Japanese team, and is light and sophisticated—much like the company itself.
