Avant-pop musician, actor, activist and poet Dua Saleh was photographed in Los Angeles while preparing for an international tour through Europe and North America.

Dua Saleh left Sudan during the Darfur War, when the artist, actor, poet and activist was just one. The family moved to Eritrea, and then to the US, when Saleh was six, where they grew up in a political household, learning the value of speaking up and using art as a means of nourishment.
