Hotel Sanders
A design-led hotel in Copenhagen’s cultural quarter.
Founded by Danish ballet dancer Alexander Kølpin in 2017, Hotel Sanders is a boutique hotel that reflects its opulent surroundings: the Royal Danish Theatre and the Opera House are both a stone’s throw from the front door. The heritage building, previously the decadent Hotel Opera, is a paean to Danish midcentury design, brought to life in a palette of olives, creams and ochre. With 54 rooms, it is a large property—but bespoke furniture and commissioned artworks give each space a personal touch. Hotel Sanders is also home to the elegant Tata cocktail bar and a rooftop conservatory—a plant-filled seating area where guests can enjoy breakfast in sun-flooded tranquility.
