The artist considers his cultural legacy.

Kevin Abstract wears many hats. A rapper, producer and songwriter, he first made a name for himself as one of the founding members of Brockhampton. For the Corpus Christi native, having flexibility and space to explore creative pursuits, both new and old, is a top priority, but he’s also thinking through how everything he attaches himself to will become part of his cultural legacy. “I wonder what Brockhampton will be 10 years from now?” he says, speaking from Los Angeles. “What did we mean for the culture, to hip-hop and music? What was our role in all this?”
