RAWDAH MOHAMED Fashion's new gatekeeper invites everyone inside.

Rawdah Mohamed has no five-year plan. “I’m not goal-oriented,” she says. “I don’t even know what I’m doing next year.” But that’s not to say that she doesn’t have a vision. The strength of her convictions and a can-do attitude have seen the Somali-Norwegian switch career from healthcare professional, to model, to viral activist, to fashion editor of the recently launched Vogue Scandinavia. When we speak, Mohamed has just stepped off a carousel of fashion weeks in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo, and is excited about what she sees as a new moment in the industry. “I have a lot in common with emerging designers,” she says. “We’re a new generation in fashion that’s more outspoken and the driving force for change.”
