My brother, Gustav, and I founded Artikel København with our mom in 2017. She spent 20 years working in the fashion industry but had grown tired of working for the big firms, where clothes are mass produced. We had long been talking about starting a project where we would produce the clothes locally. This of course requires sewing machines, and we have spent a lot of time sourcing a wide range of industrial sewing machines.

One of them is an old Juki MS-26. Juki is a big Japanese manufacturer—most of our machines were made by them. They can be quite expensive, and you need to watch out for imitations that have the same logo but were made with cheaper parts. This one is from 1985 and is a three-needle machine, capable of making a triple stitch, which has been employed on workwear since the beginning of the 20th century due to its strength and
